Based in South West England, Chantilly Patisserie was a high-end producer of handmade dessert products, supplying leading names in the UK food services market.
The owners of Chantilly Patisserie, Mel Rumbles and Geoff Yates, had grown the business successfully over a period of 25 years. They were looking to retire, and were keen to hand over the running of the company to a suitable party. They instructed Avondale to identify an industry buyer, with the potential to take the business forward.
Avondale targeted companies that had the potential to create synergies with Chantilly Patisserie. After a carefully designed marketing approach, a suitable buyer was found with Haydens Bakery Ltd, a subsidiary unit of the Real Good Food group. It was felt that the choice of acquirer left Chantilly Patisserie in a strong position to leverage Real Good Food’s strong industry networks.
The vendors felt the sale would pave the way for Chantilly Patisserie to diversify and expand its product range while continuing to serve a high-end clientele. The deal was completed within five months of Avondale’s initial instruction. Following a brief handover period, the partners have since been able to retire, knowing that the future of their enterprise is in excellent hands.
