Fenland Flat Roofing Ltd, specialist roofing contractor, has sold to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).
Fenland takes pride in its transition to an employee-owned company under the guidance of Avondale. Established in 1976, the company specialises in installing a diverse range of flat roofing systems, waterproofing solutions, and associated finishes. Offering a comprehensive and high-quality service, Fenland delivers competitively tendered, large-scale contracts to high-profile developers.
The succession plan, orchestrated by shareholders Andrew Bacon, Louise Smith, and Doug McGuigan, was driven by the desire to secure a sale that would uphold the longevity of the company’s long-standing, positive reputation and growth potential. The Trust, instituted as part of the transition, safeguards the business’s culture and commitment to exceptional customer service and employee retention. This move serves as a significant reward for the dedicated team of nearly 30 employees, who are delighted to continue in the next chapter for the business, whilst a new board has been appointed, Andrew Bacon and Louise Smith will retain a mentoring involvement going forward. Avondale led the strategy, process and sale.

“Once we made the decision to turn our business into an EOT, with a tight timescale of 3 months to achieve this, Avondale facilitated the process quickly and efficiently making themselves available and accessible at all times. They were interested, expert and committed. Great work.”
