Avondale oversees successful M&A sale of Informatica Systems Ltd.
Avondale oversees successful successful sale to Clanwilliam Group
Avondale Corporate is pleased to announce the completion of the sale of its client, healthcare predictive analytics company, Informatica Systems Ltd. The Surrey, UK-based firm has been acquired by Dublin, Ireland-headquartered Clanwilliam Group, a group of businesses committed to healthcare, technology and services. The move follows calls by Prime Minister Theresa May for the NHS to make greater use of data and artificial intelligence in diagnosing patients.
Informatica Systems, which has been working closely with the NHS for 25 years, approached Avondale Corporate to provide advice on selling the business and to identify suitable parties. By identifying Clanwilliam Group as a suitable strategic acquirer, and helping to ensure smooth negotiations between the two companies, Avondale has been able to help ensure a highly satisfactory outcome for both parties.
In joining Clanwilliam Group, Informatica Systems will be able to continue providing invaluable support to NHS customers, including helping to assess and manage the health needs of different clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) across England. The deal is also expected to unlock a number of synergistic opportunities, by providing customers and patients with access to complementary services offered by other businesses within the group.
The transaction will see Informatica Systems directors Philip Brown and David Collie remain in key leadership roles with the new company and retain their shareholdings. Mr. Brown, commented:
“Analytics can be a powerful tool in helping to unearth data that can save lives. Joining Clanwilliam Group means we will be better able to help the NHS, drawing on a much wider pool of expertise to develop our systems, and a wider network of NHS suppliers in the group that will help us to expand the reach of our technology much further across the health service.”
The acquisition also offers a number of benefits from Clanwilliam Group’s perspective, adding to the group’s M&A-driven expansion strategy, and its growing portfolio of healthcare technology companies. Informatica Systems becomes the 16th such firm to join the group since 2014, taking the combined transaction value to EUR130 million (£113 million).
