Guardian Homecare UK Ltd is a multi-branch provider of home healthcare services to the general public. The company was active in Essex, Kent and Lancashire.
Guardian Homecare’s owners were looking to retire and approached Avondale after having successfully engaged the firm on the previous sale of a franchise business. As a highly profitable and expandable multi-branch agency with a UKwide franchise operation, Avondale felt Guardian Homecare offered a number of advantages to potential acquirers looking to expand within the care sector.
Avondale made a number of discreet enquiries to prospective buyers, which, as expected, generated a significant volume of interest. Discussions ensued with several parties, with Clinovia, a leading independent homecare companies, emerging as the most suitable candidate. The company was selected due to its strong track record in the home healthcare market and its capacity to further expand Guardian Homecare.
Avondale played a key role in setting the Heads of Terms, and put in place a deal structure that reflected Guardian Homecare’s recent improvement in profitability. The agreement, which saw the full fee paid in cash on completion, also removed the need for a lengthy hand-over period. With their assets freed up, the vendors are free to embrace the next chapter in their lives from a position of financial strength.
